Zephyrhills Man Arrested In Fatal Shooting On Hill Drive: Pasco Sheriff’s Office

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in the Hill Drive area of Zephyrhills.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office, which is conducting a death investigation, announced the arrest of Joel Heredia on charges of 2nd Degree Homicide and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The arrest comes after deputies responded to a report of a shooting where preliminary information indicated that an argument between two adult men, known to each other, escalated, and one man shot the other. The victim was transported for medical attention but was pronounced deceased.

The suspect, who had fled the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival, was later apprehended.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office has stated that this appears to be an isolated incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
