TAMPA, Fla. – A 20-year-old Tampa woman was killed in an early morning wrong-way crash that happened on US 41 and Old US 41A.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet sedan was traveling northbound in the southbound inside lane of US-41 and a Nissan was traveling southbound along US-41.
Troopers say the two vehicles collided nearly head-on around 6:55 AM Sunday.
The driver of the Chevrolet sedan suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Nissan, a 21-year-old woman from Thonotosassa, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
