ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The St. Petersburg Police Department has upgraded charges against Kyle Hill, 33, to first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder following a fatal traffic crash on March 9, 2025. Hill was initially charged with DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide.
The upgrade comes after investigators determined that Hill intentionally caused the crash that killed Arislenni Blanco-Medina, 28, and seriously injured Norbelis Figueredo-Campos, 35.

According to police, Hill had an argument with his ex-girlfriend on Sunday evening, and she left in a friend’s vehicle. Hill then drove his Nissan SUV to find her.
While driving south on 34th Street North near 30th Avenue North, Hill spotted a Honda and mistakenly believed it was his ex-girlfriend. He called his ex-girlfriend, made threats, and began aggressively pursuing the Honda.
Inside the Honda were Norbelis Figueredo-Campos and Arislenni Blanco-Medina, who were on their way to Walmart. They attempted to evade Hill, but he continued the pursuit.

As they approached 17th Avenue North, Hill forced the Honda off the road. The vehicle veered onto the sidewalk and struck a concrete pole, which fell and crushed the car. Blanco-Medina died at the scene, and Figueredo-Campos sustained serious injuries.
Hill lost control of his SUV and crashed into a tree in the median. His blood alcohol level was found to be more than twice the legal limit.
Hill is now facing first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder charges, in addition to previous charges.
