LAKE WALES, Fla. – A Lake Wales woman was arrested Saturday morning after a series of events that included a traffic stop, a search, and a strange burglary attempt, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO).
Lanessa McKinney, 45, was taken into custody after a rather unusual series of events. It began around 10:18 a.m. when PCSO deputies, conducting an investigation on Skipper Trail in Lake Wales, noticed a red Dodge Ram truck speeding.
By the time deputies located the vehicle, it was parked and unoccupied. They determined the driver to be Lanessa McKinney, who had an active warrant for her arrest.

While deputies were searching for McKinney, a 911 call came in reporting a burglary in progress. The victim reported that a woman had forcibly entered her residence without permission.
When the victim asked the intruder to leave, the woman claimed she had a warrant and pleaded to be allowed to stay and hide. The victim, understandably, declined and called 911.
