CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A section of the Withlacoochee State Trail in Citrus County is temporarily closed for resurfacing work. The closure affects Segment 2 of the trail, from mile marker 28.59 at Eden Drive to mile marker 28.95, just north of Mossy Oak Drive.
This closure is part of a $1.3 million project to improve the trail’s surface. To minimize disruption, the project is being completed in segments, with each section closed for up to several weeks.

Segment 2 is expected to reopen around October 30th, weather permitting. The Florida Department of Transportation urges trail users to observe the closure for their safety and avoid the area until it reopens.
