Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson has announced Wish Farms as the recipient of the 2025 Agricultural-Environmental Leadership Award, recognizing the company’s commitment to sustainable farming practices and environmental stewardship.

The prestigious award, presented annually since 1994, honors Florida growers and ranchers who demonstrate innovative approaches to protecting the state’s natural resources while producing high-quality agricultural products.

“Wish Farms exemplifies the innovation and stewardship that make Florida agriculture a national leader,” said Commissioner Wilton Simpson. “Their commitment to sustainable farming practices, conservation, and environmental responsibility ensures that future generations will continue to enjoy the high-quality produce our state is known for. It is an honor to recognize them as the 2025 winner of the Agricultural-Environmental Leadership Award.”

Wish Farms, a fourth-generation, family-owned business based in Plant City, Florida, is a leading producer and marketer of berries, including strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and pineberries. The company supplies fresh fruit across North America.

A key highlight of Wish Farms’ commitment to sustainability is their Plant City cooler and warehouse, which features a massive 80,000-square-foot rooftop solar array. The array, comprised of over 2,100 solar panels, generates 1.6 gigawatts of energy annually, enough to power 117 Florida homes.

The company’s dedication to environmental responsibility extends to its farming practices, where they implement innovative techniques to conserve water, reduce waste, and protect natural resources. Their “Grower First” philosophy and community outreach efforts further demonstrate their commitment to providing “Feel Good Fruit” while being responsible stewards of the environment.

Wish Farms will be officially recognized by Commissioner Simpson at the Fresh From Florida Breakfast during the Florida Farm Bureau annual meeting in October.
