WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – A single-vehicle crash in Winter Haven early this morning has led to widespread power outages for businesses along Havendale Blvd.

Around 4:48 a.m., a gold Honda Accord heading east on Havendale Blvd. veered off the road at 16th St. and collided with a power pole, severing it completely. This resulted in downed power lines and a significant power outage affecting businesses from Havendale Blvd and 20th St. all the way to MLK and First Street.

Eastbound traffic on Havendale Blvd. is currently closed at 16th St. and is being detoured to Lake Howard Dr. The crash has also impacted traffic signals from MLK Blvd at First St. along Havendale Blvd., so drivers are urged to exercise caution in the area until power is restored.

TECO crews are on-site, but there is no estimated time for power restoration as additional equipment is needed to begin repairs.

The driver of the Honda Accord was not injured in the crash, and impairment is not believed to be a factor.
