According to the PCSO, the charges originated from an incident where Mascorro-Taylor allegedly took a victim’s cell phone and subsequently kicked the victim in the face. Due to a previous battery conviction on his record, the current battery charge was enhanced to a felony.
The arrest occurred without incident. Officials noted that Mascorro-Taylor’s arrest comes less than a month after he was released from the Polk County Jail, where he had previously been incarcerated for approximately three months.
