Ask and ye shall receive.
That’s the message President Joe Biden sent to the leaders of a whiny group representing America’s local school boards.
As The Free Press reported on Sunday, the National School Boards Association, which reportedly represents 90,000 members of 14,000 school boards across the country, sent Biden a letter asking for the protection of federal authorities.
The group claimed that its members are being subjected to “domestic terrorism and hate crimes” from parents angry about overly strict COVID mandates, transgender policies, critical race theory indoctrination, and pornographic books in school libraries.
Their anxious, hand-wringing plea requested help from the U.S. Department of Justice, the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Secret Service, and even the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
On Monday, the Biden administration once again signaled that it will turn on the citizens it is supposed to serve.
In a press release, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland said the Justice Department is responding to “an increase in harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence against school board members, teachers, and workers in our nation’s public schools.”
He directed FBI agents and federal prosecutors to meet with federal, state, tribal, territorial, and local law enforcement leaders “to discuss strategies for addressing this disturbing trend.”
The meetings are supposed to occur within the next month.
“Threats against public servants are not only illegal, they run counter to our nation’s core values,” Garland said in the release. “Those who dedicate their time and energy to ensuring that our children receive a proper education in a safe environment deserve to be able to do their work without fear for their safety.”
According to Garland’s directive, the Justice Department will initiate other efforts to address “the rise in criminal conduct directed toward school personnel.”
Among those efforts is the creation of a task force from multiple department divisions, including the National Security and Civil Rights divisions, that will “determine how federal enforcement tools can be used to prosecute these crimes, and ways to assist state, tribal, territorial and local law enforcement where threats of violence may not constitute federal crimes.”
The department also intends to train board members and school administrators in understanding “the type of behavior that constitutes threats,” and how to gather and save evidence of “threatening” conduct so these “crimes” can be prosecuted.
As The Free Press reported, the school boards association, which claimed it represents 90,000 people serving on 14,000 boards, told Biden that it had documented about 20 instances of “threats, harassment, disruption, and acts of intimidation” – which primarily consisted of people calling board members names and saying mean things about them.
Welcome to Biden’s America, where the only enemies spotted by the Pentagon are the conservatives within its ranks, where doofus trespassers on Capitol Hill are turned into the Soviet Red Army and where everyday people complaining about a school board making their kid wear a mask all day are made into national security threats.
