The Western Hunting and Conservation Expo (Expo) concluded its 2025 edition on February 16th, celebrating another successful year of uniting hunters and conservationists in the shared mission of preserving wildlife and wild spaces.
The Expo, a joint effort between the Mule Deer Foundation and Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife, drew nearly 20,000 attendees and 590 vendors from across the globe. The event showcased the latest in hunting gear, outdoor equipment, and conservation technology, while also raising a record-breaking $15.4 million for wildlife conservation projects.

Highlights of the Expo:
- Record Fundraising: The Expo raised over $15.4 million, exceeding previous years and demonstrating the significant financial contributions hunters make to conservation.
- Special Tag Auctions: The auction of special hunting tags generated significant funds, with the Utah Antelope Island Rocky Mountain Sheep tag fetching $200,000, the Utah Statewide Mule Deer tag selling for $370,000, and the Nevada Statewide Mule Deer tag reaching a record $300,000.
- Conservation Impact: The Expo highlighted the direct impact of its tag programs on conservation, such as the $2.2 million invested in watershed restoration projects in Utah in 2024.
The Expo serves as a platform to educate the public about the crucial role hunters play in conservation funding and habitat restoration. By bringing together hunters, conservationists, and outdoor enthusiasts, the event fosters a sense of shared responsibility for protecting wildlife and ensuring healthy ecosystems for future generations.
