MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. – Following a four-month investigation, 36-year-old Marc Mathieu of West Palm Beach has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fentanyl overdose death of Heath Moan of Stuart in March 2024.
Martin County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division detectives determined that Mathieu sold Moan the fatal dose of fentanyl-laced with xylazine, a powerful animal tranquilizer.
This arrest marks the third time in 15 months that the division has charged drug dealers with homicide offenses in overdose deaths.

Mathieu is currently held at the Martin County Jail, facing charges of first-degree murder, fentanyl trafficking, sale and distribution of controlled substances, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
