Weeki Wachee High School Student Arrested On Child Pornography Charges

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A Weeki Wachee High School student has been arrested on charges of possession of child pornography and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Matthew Tyler Woolever, 18, on January 3, 2025, after receiving information regarding the possession of child pornography. The investigation led to a seizure warrant for Woolever’s cell phone.

On January 30, 2025, detectives executed the warrant at Weeki Wachee High School. During questioning, Woolever admitted to owning the social media account containing the child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and acknowledged his awareness of the CSAM content.

Woolever was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of child pornography and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device. He was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center and is being held without bond.
