The Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County (DOH-Hillsborough) is advising the public to avoid swimming at Ben T Davis Beach and Davis Island Beach.
Water samples taken on August 14th, 2024, showed elevated levels of Enterococcus bacteria, which can cause illness.
Affected Locations:
- Ben T Davis Beach: 7740 W Courtney Campbell Causeway, Tampa, FL 33607
- Davis Island Beach: 900 Martinique Ave, Tampa, FL 33606
Recommendations:
- Refrain from any water-related activities at these beaches until further notice.
- Check FloridaHealth.gov/HealthyBeaches for updated test results.
