TAMPA, Fla. – A water main break in downtown Tampa has forced the full closure of North Tampa Street between West Indiana Avenue and East Kentucky Avenue.
The closure began at 10:00 AM today, December 30th, and is expected to remain in effect until 5:00 PM on Friday, January 3rd, as crews from the Tampa Water Department work to repair the break.
Barricades and signs have been placed in the area to direct traffic flow and alert drivers of the closure. Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling in the vicinity and to expect potential delays.

The water department aims to complete the repairs and reopen the road by Friday afternoon, but the timeline is contingent on weather conditions and the complexity of the repair work.
Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes and allow extra travel time if their commute typically takes them through this section of North Tampa Street.
