Taampa Shooting Suspect Bervis Sanders

WATCH: Suspect Who Shot Three People Sunday Now In Custody

TAMPA, Fla.- The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested the suspect who shot three individuals early Sunday morning outside a Tampa lounge.

Just after 1:00 a.m. on April 4, 2021, Bervis Sanders, 28, was engaged in a verbal altercation with one of the victims inside Taiga, located at 10315 Causeway Boulevard. Following the incident, Sanders told the victim to meet him outside in the parking lot.

Sanders walked eastbound toward a gas station parking lot, while the victim followed behind him. The victim stopped short of the gas station parking lot, stopping to meet with friends in between the lounge and gas station.

Sanders got into his registered red 2017 Hyundai Elantra and later began driving toward the group of friends. At 1:21 a.m., Sanders leaned over from the driver’s side of his car, extended his arm outside the passenger’s side window, and began shooting at the group of people.

Three victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital.

Surveillance video from the shooting can be viewed below.

Witnesses and one of the victims from the scene of the shooting were able to help identify Sanders, and he was arrested this week. His identification was also confirmed by his parole supervisor.

“This suspect is a dangerous individual, as he was already on parole for an armed robbery he had committed in another state,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This man is no stranger to jail time, and that’s where he’ll remain for now after he again tried to destroy lives here in Hillsborough County.”

Sanders faces several charges, including First Degree Attempted Murder. He remains in jail without bond.
