HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – In anticipation of forecasted low temperatures, Hernando County Emergency Management, in partnership with Hernando County Community Organizations Active in Disaster and the City of Brooksville, is opening a Warming Center to provide shelter and warmth to those in need.
The Warming Center will be located at the Enrichment Center, located at 800 John Gary Grubbs Blvd., Brooksville, FL 34601. The center will be open on Sunday, January 19th, from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, and again on Tuesday, January 21st, from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

Important Information
- The Warming Center will not include meals or cots.
- Pets are not allowed in the Warming Center.
Hernando County officials are urging residents to take steps to prepare for the cold weather, including:
- Staying indoors whenever possible
- Bringing pets inside and covering or moving plants that are sensitive to cold
- Running pool pumps overnight during freezing temperatures to prevent damage
- Monitoring local media outlets or the National Weather Service for current weather information
