HAINES CITY, Fla. – A man who assaulted a Haines City Police Officer is wanted and investigators need your help.
On September 23, 2022, at approximately 4:49 p.m., Haines City Police Officer Adams attempted to investigate a fraudulent prescription at First Choice Pharmacy, 2306 North Boulevard West, Haines City.
According to police, Officer Adams was told a vehicle leaving the scene was the suspect’s and he conducted a traffic stop near North Blvd. and Highway 27 on a gray Infinity sedan with FL license 17AVDF.
While speaking with the occupants and attempting to retrieve the passenger’s identification the driver struck Officer Adams in the chest with his elbow and forearm.
The suspect took off, heading northbound on Highway 27.

Officer Adams began a pursuit, but due to weather conditions and traffic density, he canceled the pursuit for the safety of others.
Officer Adams checked the license plate and found that Kushaun Paul Rana was the driver who assaulted him.
A warrant was issued for Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Fleeing or attempting to elude and resist Officer without violence.
