Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy encouraged supporters of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who are becoming anti-Trump, to back the former president.
That’s because Donald Trump is the “only choice” left in the election for conservatives who want to save the country from another term under leftist President Joe Biden, Ramaswamy said.
The billionaire biotech executive commented during an interview with Seth Dillon, CEO of the conservative satire website The Babylon Bee. Dillon posted the interview on X on Friday.

At one point, Dillon asks Ramaswamy, who dropped out of the race and immediately endorsed Trump after the Jan. 15 Iowa caucuses, what his message is to DeSantis fans who “have sworn off Trump by saying that they’ll never get behind him, that they won’t back him.”
“I think it’s a mistake” not to support Trump, Ramasamy replied.
“Put your personal distastes or preferences to one side. This is not a moment for preferences. You’re not at a restaurant picking what you wanna order for dinner,” he said.
He added, “I would tell them the same thing I would tell my supporters: We have a country to save.”
Ramaswamy challenged this pro-DeSantis subset of anti-Trumpers to consider who best could prioritize America’s interests.

“You have one choice left in this race to accomplish that, and I think it’s the guy who did a pretty good job of at least moving the ball forward in that direction … and that’s Donald Trump,” Ramaswamy said.
The former presidential hopeful noted that he understands the emotion behind such a choice. But, despite losing to Trump, he grasps that Trump is the best option for conservatives.
“I will nonetheless do everything in my power [to help Trump] because I believe it’s the right thing to do,” he said.
Ramaswamy said he fully understands the disappointment that comes with accepting the outcome and agreed with Dillon that emotions for DeSantis supporters may still be “raw” because of the “mean things” Trump repeatedly lashed out with about their guy.

But he said he believed they would come around to Trump if they fully understood the stakes in November. He noted that DeSantis also endorsed Trump after losing to him in New Hampshire.
“Whatever the heart of that reason is [for supporting DeSantis] will automatically will lead that person, through reason and through an open exchange, to say that, obviously, there’s one best way left to advance that [conservative] agenda — and that’s to do what I’m doing and what Ron DeSantis is doing: support Donald Trump to be the next president,” Ramaswamy said.
