In recent weeks school board meeting chambers have proven to be the battlegrounds over Critical Race Theory.
In one Virginia county, instead of debating the merits of indoctrinating children with an obviously racist ideology, the left-wingers are taking extreme steps to push through CRT.
According to The Federalist, last month the PTA at the elite Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Fairfax County, a suburb of Washington, elected a new board.
Four of the newly elected members were part of a group that last year fought the county school board’s decision to eliminate merit-based entry into the high school. Which was arguably a racist stance since,
The Federalist noted ratio of Asian students at the school dropped from 73 percent in 2020 to 54 percent today.
Now, the four new members are opposing the instruction of CRT in the school.
In response to the election, the statewide Virginia Parent-Teacher Association announced last week that would revoke the local PTA’s charter and dissolve it.
That would create an avenue for a new election.
By the way, the four people the state group objects to are, as liberals like to say, “people of color.” They include the chapter’s first black president and three members of Asian descent.
The Federalist reported that the statewide PTA objected to the election outcome for three reasons.
For one thing, a group that supported yearlong Zoom sessions for students took exception to the new president’s support for electronic, remote voting.
For another, the statewide PTA objected to “several” of the new local board being quoted in the media saying that their personal views “represented the views and opinions” of the chapter’s membership. As if that wasn’t evident from the fact that they won the elections.
Lastly, the statewide PTA asserted newly officers were “bullying” their predecessors and creating a “hostile volunteer environment.” Yet, apparently, it’s not bullying for the state body to say behave as we want, or we’ll just dissolve your group.
It’s clear from the Fairfax County controversy, among others, that the peasants are revolting against the imposition of left-wing ideology, and liberals, as usual, have no answer except brute force.
