Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin delivered an impassioned speech following the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump, declaring it the “dawn of the Golden Age of America.” Speaking to a crowd of enthusiastic supporters in Washington, D.C., Youngkin celebrated Trump’s return to the White House and outlined a vision of prosperity, security, and strength under the new administration.

“What a day to be in Washington, D.C.,” Youngkin proclaimed. “We inaugurated the 47th President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump. In Virginia, we know that taxes have to be low, jobs have to be plentiful, and it’s your money—not the government’s.”

The Virginia governor praised Trump’s unwavering commitment to the American people, highlighting the former president’s resilience in the face of legal and political challenges. “They tried to take him down legally, they tried to put him in jail, they even tried to assassinate him,” Youngkin said. “But he never gave up on America, and America will never give up on him.”

Youngkin took a moment to recognize the sacrifices made by military personnel and law enforcement officers, underscoring their vital role in ensuring the safety and security of the nation.

“Freedom is not free,” he stated. “Our military heroes and their families sacrifice everything, and law enforcement stands in the breach. We must always back the blue.”

The crowd erupted into applause as Youngkin called for recognition of the 25,000 military and police officers present in Washington, D.C., to ensure a safe and successful inauguration.

Youngkin painted a stark contrast between the previous administration and the Trump presidency, declaring that the “sunset on weakness, wokeness, and a wide-open border” had arrived. He promised a “prosperous, secure, and strong America” under Trump’s leadership.

“We are seeing the dawn of a prosperous America, the dawn of a secure and safe America, and the dawn of a world that sees peace because we have a strong America,” Youngkin said.

He also praised Trump’s immediate action upon taking office, mentioning key priorities such as border security, tackling inflation, and signing executive orders to reverse Biden-era policies. “President Trump and Vice President JD Vance have already gone to work,” Youngkin assured the crowd. “He is closing the border, bringing down inflation, and stepping into the breach to restore our greatness.”

Throughout his speech, Youngkin called on Americans to rally behind Trump’s vision and work together to achieve a brighter future for the country. “We all have a responsibility to stand every day in support of this administration,” he urged. “It is time for America to be prosperous again. It is time for America to be safe again. It is time for America to be great again.”

Drawing inspiration from Virginia’s rich history, Youngkin referenced the Founding Fathers, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Patrick Henry, emphasizing the nation’s foundational principles of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

“We stand here on the dawn of a new age where life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are available to every American,” Youngkin declared.

Closing his speech with a patriotic flourish, Youngkin expressed his optimism for the future and offered a blessing to the new administration. “God bless America, and God bless Donald J. Trump and JD Vance,” he concluded.

As President Trump begins his second term, Governor Youngkin’s remarks reinforced the renewed sense of hope and unity among supporters eager to see the fulfillment of Trump’s ambitious agenda for the nation.
