Violent Burglary Suspect Arrested In Laundry Room Of Riverview Home

RIVERVIEW, Fla. – Deputies from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) apprehended a burglary suspect early Monday morning in Riverview.

On Monday, at approximately 12:05 a.m., HCSO deputies responded to a reported residential burglary at a home located in the 11500 block of Running Pine Drive in Riverview. Upon arrival, deputies identified the suspect as 31-year-old Antwon Leonard, who was wanted for Burglary of a Dwelling with Assault or Battery – Domestic Violence.

Deputies, with the support of the K-9 Section, entered the residence and conducted a thorough search. Leonard was discovered hiding behind the laundry room door. The suspect complied with the K-9’s commands and was taken into custody without further incident.

Sheriff Chad Chronister commended the deputies for their swift and effective response, emphasizing the importance of public safety in the county.

“Our deputies acted swiftly and decisively to apprehend this individual, ensuring the safety of everyone involved,” Sheriff Chronister said. “Violence has no place in Hillsborough County. Let this serve as a clear message that those who threaten the safety of others will be held accountable.”
