The attacker is seen brandishing what seems to be a knife as he staggers away after stabbing the diplomat.

It is not immediately evident who the offender is or how he is related to the diplomat. According to i24NEWS, the diplomat was transported to a hospital and is currently in stable condition.

The event occurred a few days after former Hamas terrorist leader Khaled Meshaal declared Friday to be a “Day of Jihad.” In a recorded message on Wednesday, he urged Palestine’s neighbors to enlist in the Israeli army.

“[We must] head to the squares and streets of the Arab and Islamic world on Friday,” Meshaal said. “Deliver a message through the squares and the streets, a message of anger that we are with Palestine.”

“To all scholars who teach jihad … to all who teach and learn, this is a moment for the application (of theories),” he went on to say.
