PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Gulf Middle School in New Port Richey was on controlled campus status after a report of an individual on campus with a possible weapon.
Out of an abundance of caution, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office searched the school.
Deputies say after continued investigation, the report of a weapon was determined to be regarding a video game and not a weapon on campus.

A thorough search was conducted out of an abundance of caution, and no weapon was found.
The school returned to normal operations.
