Vice President JD Vance delivered a spirited address at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Thursday, celebrating the one-month anniversary of the Trump-Vance Administration while taking a playful swipe at CNN.

Vance highlighted the administration’s rapid progress on key issues, from securing the southern border to cutting wasteful government spending, and thanked supporters for their role in making their agenda a reality.

Vance opened his remarks by reflecting on the administration’s whirlwind first month in office. “It’s hard to believe we’ve only been in office for a month because I think we’ve done more in a month than Biden did in four years,” Vance said to cheers from the crowd. “The president keeps us on a pretty breakneck pace. He always asks, ‘What have we done today? What are we going to do tomorrow? What are we going to do next week?’”

He credited the American people for giving the administration a mandate to “save the country” and emphasized the urgency of their mission. “Thank God for that because it’s been a hell of a lot of fun the past month,” Vance added.

Vance didn’t miss an opportunity to poke fun at CNN, which has struggled with declining viewership in recent years. “We’ve had maybe more executive orders than CNN has viewers,” he quipped. “Hello to our friends at CNN. I think their plan was to go all-in on anti-Trump and hope he could save their ratings, like he did in 2017. But I guess that’s the one thing the president hasn’t been able to do—save CNN’s ratings.”

The crowd erupted in laughter and applause as Vance delivered the jab.

Vance outlined several major achievements of the Trump-Vance Administration, starting with border security. “Thanks to the president’s actions, border crossings are down well over 90 percent, and we’re just getting started,” he said.

He also highlighted the administration’s focus on economic growth and energy independence. “We’ve got to get back to having a growing economy that creates good jobs and high wages for the American people,” Vance said. “A lot of that goes back to ‘drill, baby, drill.’ We’ve done more on energy under President Trump’s leadership than any administration in history, and that’s not an exaggeration.”

One of the administration’s top priorities has been rooting out wasteful government spending. Vance revealed shocking examples of taxpayer dollars being misused, including funding for “progressive modern art projects centered around toilets in Afghanistan.”

“Why are we wasting so much money on garbage that the American people either aren’t aware of or don’t want to be spending it on in the first place?” Vance asked. “Let’s turn off the spigot and spend the American people’s tax money on the American people’s priorities.”

He praised the administration’s efforts to audit federal programs and redirect resources to areas that benefit everyday Americans.

The Trump-Vance Administration’s first month has set a high bar for what’s to come. With a focus on border security, economic growth, energy independence, and fiscal responsibility, the administration is poised to deliver on its promises made leading up to the election.
