Vice President JD Vance delivered a passionate address at the Religious Freedom Summit in Washington earlier today, highlighting the administration’s rapid progress in advancing religious liberty and rolling back policies perceived as hostile to faith-based communities. Speaking to a packed audience, Vance emphasized the administration’s commitment to protecting and expanding religious freedoms both domestically and internationally.
“We are only in the third week of the second term, but I think it’s safe to say we’ve accomplished more in the last two weeks than many administrations have in a few years,” Vance declared. “This administration is intent on not just restoring but expanding the achievements of the first four years.”

Vance outlined several key actions taken by the administration in recent weeks, including executive orders aimed at ending what he described as the “weaponization of the federal government against religious Americans.” He also highlighted the pardoning of pro-life protesters who were imprisoned under the previous administration, calling their incarceration “unjust.” Additionally, Vance emphasized the administration’s efforts to combat federal censorship, particularly in cases where Americans were prevented from expressing their beliefs online or in their communities.
“Our administration believes we must stand for religious freedom—not just as a legal principle, as important as that is, but as a lived reality, both within our own borders and especially outside of them,” Vance said.
The vice president’s remarks come amid a flurry of activity from the administration, which has drawn both praise and criticism for its aggressive pace. Last week, the satirical news outlet The Babylon Bee quipped, “Exhausted Media Begs Administration to Slow Down a Little Bit,” a headline Vance referenced with a smile during his speech. “They’re not going to get their wish,” he said, drawing laughter and applause from the audience.

The contrast between the current administration’s approach and that of its predecessors was a recurring theme in Vance’s address. He noted the dramatic shift from a perceived lack of public engagement to a relentless schedule of events and policy announcements. “You go from no events on the public schedule to 500 events and three news conferences,” Vance said. “As one of my newsletters put it today, an anonymous source said, ‘Resistance is futile.’”
The Religious Freedom Summit, attended by faith leaders, activists, and policymakers from across the country, served as a platform for the administration to reaffirm its dedication to protecting religious liberties.
