Venice Man Faces Multiple Charges After Early Morning Incident In Tavernier

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A 23-year-old Venice man was arrested in Tavernier early Friday morning following an incident that led to the discovery of drugs and a firearm in his vehicle.

Caleb Joseph Martin was taken into custody after deputies responded to a call about a Mazda sedan that had struck a curb at the Tavernier 7-Eleven around 2:36 a.m. Upon arrival, deputies observed drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed a loaded 9mm handgun and methamphetamine.

Martin now faces a series of charges, including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of methamphetamine, and multiple marijuana-related offenses. He was booked into the Monroe County Jail.
