A federal grand jury in Salt Lake City has indicted Ryan Gregory Bracken, 44, of West Valley City, on charges of stalking and interstate communication of threats. The superseding indictment was returned on August 21st, expanding on the initial charges filed against Bracken in April.
According to court documents, Bracken allegedly made numerous threatening phone calls to various Salt Lake County government offices, including the Sheriff’s Office and the Recorder’s Office.

In one voicemail, he accused the Salt Lake County Recorder and an employee of treason, stating that the penalty is death. In calls to the Sheriff’s Office, Bracken threatened violence if his property was sold, even referencing a specific firearm.
Data from Salt Lake County IT specialists showed Bracken made 32 calls to various county offices in April alone.

Bracken now faces five counts of stalking and one count of interstate communication of threats. His initial court appearance on the superseding indictment is set for August 27th at the Orrin G. Hatch United States District Courthouse in Salt Lake City.
