A federal grand jury in Utah has indicted a mother, her sister, and two sons Friday for allegedly kidnapping a child and concealing them in a religious compound in Missouri for over a year.

Kimberly Dell Davidson-Drolet, 53, allegedly took her non-custodial child from Utah to Springfield, Missouri, between January 2023 and June 2024. She was assisted by her sons, Jaxson and Dallas Davidson, and her sister, Kristine Merrill. All four are currently in custody.

The indictment alleges that Drolet used various means to hide her and the child’s whereabouts, including burner phones and the postal service. She is also accused of meticulously planning the kidnapping with the help of her family members, who continued to conceal their location from authorities even after Drolet fled the state.

Before her arrest, Drolet was reportedly seen with the child at a religious compound led by a cult leader related to her.

All four defendants are charged with kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping. Drolet’s initial appearance is scheduled for August 13th in Salt Lake City. The other defendants’ court dates are yet to be determined.
