USF’s Nay’Quan Wright Competing In Trillion Tropical Bowl In Daytona Beach

TAMPA, Fla. – Former USF running back Nay’Quan Wright will have the opportunity to impress NFL scouts and general managers this week without leaving the state.

Wright, who spent two seasons with the Bulls after transferring from Florida, was invited to the Trillion Tropical Bowl. The game, featuring players from all NCAA levels and NAIA, is scheduled for Sunday at Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach. Practices begin Thursday at Celebration High School.

The Miami native ran for 1,307 yards (4.5 per tote) and 16 touchdowns, totaling 1,524 yards in his two years at USF. He had five 100-yard games on the ground, including a career-best 186 at UConn in 2023. For his career, which began with the Gators in 2019, Wright ran for 2,060 yards (4.3) and 21 touchdowns. He totaled 2,732 yards and 22 TDs.

Receiver Sean Atkins and left tackle R.J. Perry competed in the College Gridiron Showcase & Symposium in Fort Worth this past weekend. The three-day event included scrimmages and drills in front of scouts from the NFL, CFL, and other professional leagues.

Atkins walked on at USF in 2019 and became USF’s all-time leader in receptions (200) and receiving yards (2,167). Perry, who followed coach Alex Golesh to USF from Tennessee, started 18 games in his two seasons with the Bulls.
