Fletcher brings nearly two decades of coaching experience to the role. He previously worked alongside Abdur-Rahim at Kennesaw State, where they orchestrated a remarkable turnaround, taking the Owls from a one-win season to a 26-win season and the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in just three years.

Fletcher’s coaching journey also includes 14 seasons at his alma mater, Troy University, where he played a key role in the Trojans’ success, including two Sun Belt titles and an NCAA Tournament berth in 2017.

As a player, Fletcher was a standout guard for Troy, leading the Trojans to their first Division I NCAA Tournament appearance in 2003. He holds the distinction of being part of both Troy teams to reach the NCAA Tournament, first as a player and then as a coach.

Fletcher’s coaching philosophy emphasizes player development, both on and off the court. He is known for his ability to connect with players and help them reach their full potential.

With his impressive resume and commitment to excellence, Ben Fletcher is well-equipped to guide the USF men’s basketball program through this period of transition and continue building on the foundation established by Coach Abdur-Rahim.
