In a precision airstrike conducted on February 23rd in Northwest Syria, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces successfully targeted and killed Muhammed Yusuf Ziya Talay, the senior military leader of Hurras al-Din (HaD), an Al-Qaeda affiliate.

This operation underscores the ongoing commitment of CENTCOM, in collaboration with regional partners, to disrupt and dismantle terrorist networks and their ability to plan and execute attacks.

“As we have said in the past, we will continue to relentlessly pursue these terrorists in order to defend our homeland, and U.S., allied, and partner personnel in the region,” stated Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, commander of U.S. Central Command.

The airstrike is part of a broader strategy to counter the threat of terrorism emanating from Syria and the surrounding region. By targeting key leaders within terrorist organizations, CENTCOM aims to degrade their operational capabilities and prevent attacks against civilians and military personnel.
