A special federal prosecutor has uncovered critical, concrete evidence that a major American political figure spied on an opponent’s campaign in the middle of a national election, and covered it up.
The politician, without offering evidence to refute the claim, calls the accusation fake news and a conspiracy theory. It is, the politician says, a “fake scandal,” one cooked up to divert attention from the opponent’s efforts to undermine the American political system.
We could be talking about Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
In fact, we are talking about Trump and Hillary – except in this case, as special prosecutor John Durham has indicated, it was Hillary’s operatives who spied on Trump’s campaign, possibly illegally, and she is now claiming the whole episode is fake news and a conspiracy theory intended to divert attention from Trump’s wrongdoing.
Yet the fact that Hillary’s allies control the White House and Congress, as well as the national media, is why U.S. Sen. Rick Scott is leading the charge to protect Durham.
Much like liberals fought tooth and nail to shield Robert Mueller from Trump’s wrath before his investigation into Trump ended with a whimper instead of a bang, the Florida Republican has led his party in seeking assurances that Durham will be allowed to finish his inquiry unmolested by forces within the Biden administration.
Scott and 45 other GOP senators issued a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding that Durham’s “prosecutorial independence” be respected and that he and his staff will be provided “all resources necessary to fully, thoroughly, and completely pursue the investigation for which he was appointed” – that is, the Russia-collusion hoax.
Scott and the rest of the senators noted that Durham continues to uncover “alarming” information about the FBI’s witch hunt into Trump and his 2016 campaign.
“These findings include the highly concerning, and potentially criminal, manipulation and exploitation of federal law enforcement resources to target American citizens, including a presidential candidate, based on fabricated evidence that had been procured and disseminated by individuals closely connected with a rival political campaign,” the letter states.
“The fraudulent use of the FBI’s investigative powers by those malign actors has left a dark stain on the reputation and credibility of the nation’s premier law enforcement agency,” the GOP senators continued. “We hope you agree that those responsible for that manipulation and exploitation must be identified and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law by Special Counsel Durham.”
“We further expect you will support this important work until all those responsible for the fraud committed upon the American people are brought to justice.”
As The Free Press recently reported, Durham in court records says he has evidence that a cybersecurity expert working with Hillary’s campaign was able to set up a network whereby he was able to see what websites were visited by computers in Trump’s New York office and apartment, as well as the White House after he got elected.
The tech guru was working with a lawyer who, prosecutors say, lied to FBI agents about working for Hillary when he allegedly brought evidence, which did not exist, that Trump was connected to Russian bankers tight with the Kremlin.
