US Rep. Devin Nunes, A Staunch Trump Defender, Will Now Run Trump’s New Media Venture

U.S. Rep. Devin Nunes was among the liberals’ favorite punching bags for defying the narrative on the Trump-Russia collusion hoax.

The California Republican, who chaired the House Intelligence Committee for four years before Democrats recaptured the House in 2018, was ultimately proven correct. And liberals still have not apologized for tearing the country apart during Donald Trump’s presidency.

Yet now the former president has something else in mind for Nunes.

The veteran lawmaker announced Monday that he is resigning at the end of this year to become CEO of the Trump Media & Technology Group, or TMTG.

Nunes will start in January, according to The Washington Times.

“Congressman Devin Nunes is a fighter and a leader,” Trump said in a statement, according to the Times.

“He will make an excellent CEO of TMTG. Devin understands that we must stop the liberal media and Big Tech from destroying the freedoms that make America great. America is ready for TRUTH Social and the end to censorship and political discrimination.”

TRUTH Social is the social media platform Trump intends to launch to counter the left-wing Big Tech, which has banned Trump from its platforms.

In a letter announcing his resignation, Nunes told his constituents, “I will deeply miss being your congressman. Rest assured, I have not, by any means, given up our collective fight – I’ll just be pursuing it through other means.”

In a statement distributed by Trump Media, Nunes added, “America made the dream of the Internet a reality and it will be an American company that restores the dream. I’m humbled and honored President Trump has asked me to lead the mission and the world-class team that will deliver on this promise.”

Nunes was first elected in 2002 and has represented primarily California’s San Joaquin Valley.
