President Joe Biden continues to politicize what is supposed to be America’s apolitical part of government: the U.S. military.

The Navy offered an example.

According to The Daily Wire, the Navy used the “Transgender Day of Visibility” on Friday — when aren’t they visible, one might ask — to denounce states that passed laws to protect children from gender ideology and to urge critics of the ideology to be an “ally” of those advocating transgender rights.

In a lengthy press release, issued Thursday, Aime Lykins, a public affairs officer with the Naval Sea Systems Command, noted that the Transgender Day of Visibility “provides an opportunity to raise awareness about transgender individuals and their contributions to society, while also drawing attention to the discrimination and violence many trans individuals face.”

Note that Lykins decried the “violence” that trans people allegedly face just days after a trans man shot up a Christian school in Nashville, killing three students under 10 and three faculty, including the school’s principal.

Lykins also claimed, “Current, ongoing research is exploring structural differences in the brain that may influence gender expression.” Yet she then noted research that suggests the current burst of transgenderism, especially among young adults, offers signs of a social contagion.

Reportedly, Lykins wrote, 1.6 million Americans identify as transgender. Among them, those ages 13 to 17 are almost five times as likely to identify as trans than their grandparents’ generation: 1.4% compared to 0.3% for people 65 and older.

Then, apparently since the U.S. Navy cannot find foes abroad, the service aimed at its fellow Americans.

“Encouragingly, many states work every year to pass laws to protect LGBTQ+ people. However, some state legislatures are advancing bills that target transgender people and limit local protections,” Lykins wrote.

“Even if you are not a part of the trans community, a great way to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility is being an ally.”

“There is no one way to be a ‘perfect’ ally,” Lykins continued. “The transgender community is diverse and complex, coming from every region of the world, from every racial and ethnic background, and from every faith community. This means that different members of the transgender community have different needs and priorities.”

“Be respectful, do your best, and keep trying. You don’t have to understand someone’s identity to respect it.”

“This year for Transgender Day of Visibility,” Lykins concluded, “continue learning about transgender issues and rights. One of the simplest ways to be a strong ally is to take your education into your own hands and stand up for equality for all.”
