AUSTIN, TX. – The U.S. Marshals-led Lone Star Fugitive Task Force has arrested a juvenile in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Austin on January 24th. This arrest follows the apprehension of 18-year-old Bill Tarlue Nyanway, also of Austin, who was taken into custody on January 27th and charged with tampering with physical evidence related to the shooting.
The Austin Police Department’s Homicide Division investigated the incident, which took place in the 10200 block of Wildhorse Ranch Trail. Arrest warrants for both suspects were obtained in the Austin Municipal Court on January 27th.

Responding officers from Austin Police, Fire, and Travis County Emergency Medical Services discovered a white sedan crashed in a ditch near Manor Excel Academy. A victim with a gunshot wound was found at the scene and, despite life-saving attempts, was pronounced deceased.
The Austin Police Department requested the assistance of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force to locate and apprehend the two suspects.

The task force subsequently arrested Nyanway in the 9400 block of North Lamar Blvd without incident. He was booked into the Travis County Jail pending further legal proceedings. The juvenile suspect was arrested without incident in the 14500 block of Heartland Drive in Manor and transported to Austin Police Headquarters.
