A Florida man wanted for murder was apprehended near Vail, Colorado, after the bus he was traveling in got caught in an Interstate 70 traffic jam. Aldo Armijos-Castillo, 32, was arrested Wednesday evening by a joint effort of the U.S. Marshals Service and the Vail Police Department.
Armijos-Castillo was wanted by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office in connection with a December 26th home invasion in Bradenton, Florida, that resulted in a man’s death. He was facing a felony arrest warrant for murder by a person engaged in burglary.

Investigators tracked Armijos-Castillo as he fled Florida, intending to reach California. A tip led the U.S. Marshals Service’s Colorado Violent Offender Task Force to locate him on a westbound bus on I-70.
A fortunate traffic delay near Vail provided the opportunity for law enforcement to intercept the bus.
Vail police, with the assistance of a SWAT team, apprehended Armijos-Castillo without incident. He was booked into the Eagle County Jail and is currently awaiting extradition to Florida to face charges.
