U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that the operation on Sunday involved multiple Air Force assets, including B-52 bombers, F-15 fighter jets, and A-10 attack aircraft. Over 75 ISIS targets were struck in the operation.

This aggressive action comes as Syria faces a period of heightened instability following the reported disappearance of President Bashar al-Assad. CENTCOM emphasized that the strikes aim to prevent ISIS from exploiting the current situation to regain strength and operational capabilities.
“There should be no doubt – we will not allow ISIS to reconstitute and take advantage of the current situation in Syria,” said General Michael Erik Kurilla, “All organizations in Syria should know that we will hold them accountable if they partner with or support ISIS in any way.”
