In a dramatic rescue operation Thursday, a man and his dog were successfully saved by the US Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater amidst the fury of Hurricane Helene.

Officials say the man’s 36-foot sailboat had become disabled and was taking on water approximately 25 miles off Sanibel Island.
