In a decisive operation against terrorist networks, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces conducted a precision airstrike on February 15 in northwest Syria, targeting and killing a senior finance and logistics official of Hurras al-Din (HaD), an Al-Qaeda affiliate.

The targeted operative, whose responsibilities included managing critical funding and logistical support for the terrorist organization, played a key role in facilitating HaD’s ability to plan and execute attacks against U.S. personnel, allies, and regional partners.

“We will continue to relentlessly pursue terrorists in order to defend our homeland, and U.S., allied, and partner personnel in the region,” said Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, commander of U.S. Central Command.

The airstrike is part of an ongoing multinational effort by CENTCOM and regional partners to counter extremist threats in the Middle East.

Officials emphasized that such precision operations are crucial for impairing the infrastructure of groups like Hurras al-Din, which remain determined to target civilians and military forces across the region.
