ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Flooding is already impacting St. Petersburg as Hurricane Milton closes in. City officials are issuing an urgent plea for residents in evacuation zones and flood-prone areas to seek shelter immediately.

“If you are in an area at risk of flooding, do not wait,” officials urge. “Evacuate to a shelter now!”

The following shelters are open in St. Petersburg:

  • Gibbs High School: 850 34th St S
  • Fairmont Park Elementary School: 575 41st St S
  • Campbell Park Elementary School: 1051 7th Av S
