PORT RICHEY, Fla. – A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred Saturday in Port Richey.
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Joel Heredia on charges of 2nd Degree Homicide and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The arrest stems from an investigation into a stabbing that took place near the intersection of State Road 52 and U.S. 19 around 10:40 a.m. on Saturday, March 8th.
According to preliminary information, an altercation between two adult men led to one man stabbing the other. The victim was transported to a medical facility but was pronounced dead. The suspect fled the scene on foot before deputies arrived.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office stated the incident appears to be isolated and there is no ongoing threat to public safety. The investigation remains active.
