LAKELAND, Fla. – A resident in the Creeks Crossing neighborhood of North Lakeland had an unexpected visitor Tuesday night: an alligator at their front door. Deputies responded to the call while waiting for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) to arrive.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies, including Rios, Gonzalez-Gomez, Rice, Bellido, and Roque, kept the gator contained until FWC officers could safely relocate it.

The PCSO reminded residents that “This is Florida. We live here,” highlighting the reality of living alongside wildlife in the Sunshine State.
