The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) is requesting that agricultural producers participate in a survey to assess Hurricane Milton’s impact on Florida’s agricultural sector.

The survey, conducted by the UF/IFAS Economic Impact Analysis Program (EIAP), aims to gather crucial data on production losses and asset damages resulting from the Category 3 storm. This information will be used to estimate the overall agricultural losses across the state and inform disaster response and relief efforts.

Producers can access the survey online at go.ufl.edu/MiltonAgImpacts or report their information to their local UF/IFAS Extension office by phone or in person.

Key Information for Survey Participants:

  • The survey is confidential and should take approximately 10-20 minutes to complete.
  • Producers who were also impacted by Hurricanes Debby and/or Helene should adjust their responses to reflect the state of their operations immediately prior to Hurricane Milton.
  • Continued reporting of agricultural impacts from Hurricanes Debby and Helene is also encouraged through separate surveys available at go.ufl.edu/DebbyAgImpacts and go.ufl.edu/HeleneAgImpacts.

The data collected from this survey will play a vital role in understanding the extent of Hurricane Milton’s impact on Florida’s agricultural industry and guiding effective recovery strategies. UF/IFAS urges all affected producers to participate and contribute to this important assessment.
