TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa’s fourth women’s Final Four, the most of any city, concluded with Geno Auriemma’s UConn Huskies winning a 12th national title, the most of any men’s or women’s program. An 82-59 victory over South Carolina marked the second time his team won it all at Amalie Arena, along with their 2015 victory.

The win also avenged a 64-49 loss to Dawn Staley’s team in the 2022 championship game in Minneapolis while denying the Gamecocks a repeat after winning their third title in Cleveland a year ago.

Here are some facts and figures from a Final Four in downtown Tampa.

52 – Points UConn guard Azzi Fudd scored in two games against South Carolina this season. She had 24 Sunday and 28 when the Huskies won February 16 in Columbia, 87-58…..Also, the combined margin of victory in the Huskies’ two wins over the Gamecocks this season.

32 – UConn’s largest lead Sunday was 80-48 with 4:20 remaining.

25.5 – Paige Bueckers’ scoring average in this year’s NCAA tournament.
