PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – UBS Wealth Management USA announced today that James “Trey” Mahoney III, a Portfolio Manager and Financial Advisor in the Palm Beach Gardens branch office, has been named to UBS’s Rising Advisors list (formerly known as the UBS Top 35 Under 35 list).
This honor signals the second consecutive year that Trey has been recognized as a rising advisor by UBS. In addition, he received similar accolades from other industry-leading publications, including being named to Forbes’ Top 250 Next-Gen Advisors list, and Financial Planning/On Wall Street’s Top 40 Under 40 list in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
“It is humbling to be named alongside so many of my talented colleagues as one of the industry’s rising advisors.” Mahoney said. “This recognition is a testament to my team, our firm, and the families we have the privilege to serve.”
Mahoney joined UBS in 2012 after earning his MBA and undergraduate degrees from Appalachian State University. He’s been with the Focus Wealth Management team within UBS Wealth Management USA since the beginning of his career and took over leading the team in 2018 with his partner Peter Foley, after the passing of Trey’s father, the original founder.
Through that adversity, Mahoney quickly learned that sustaining strong relationships is critical to business growth and success. His clients’ needs remain at the core of his mission to provide objective financial guidance, earning him a reputation as a trusted source for investors seeking wealth management, retirement planning, financial planning and asset management solutions.
“I’m extremely pleased to see Trey named to UBS’s 2021 list of Rising Advisors,” said Robert Covino, South Florida Market Head at UBS Wealth Management USA. “His financial acumen, industry expertise, and vast wealth of knowledge combined with his unwavering commitment to make a positive impact in the lives of our clients is truly inspiring. I look forward to watching Trey excel further in his role and wish him continued success.”
Outside of the office, Mahoney remains involved in “The Crossing for a Cure,” an 80-mile paddleboarding race that stretches from Bimini, Bahamas, to Florida, with the goal of raising money and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis research. In his downtime, he enjoys photographing his adventures, many of which were accompanied by his father, to see big cats in Africa, brown bears in Alaska, and great white sharks in Mexico.
