U.S. intelligence agencies issued a stark warning Thursday, urging American companies to strengthen security measures in response to an uptick in Russian sabotage activities targeting Ukraine’s allies in Europe.

The National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC) released a public bulletin highlighting the growing risks to firms supporting Ukraine’s military efforts amid Moscow’s ongoing invasion. The advisory comes after a series of covert Russian operations aimed at undermining critical infrastructure and allies’ confidence in Ukraine’s defense.

“Russia’s sabotage activities in Europe increase the risk to U.S. companies abroad and potentially at home,” the officials wrote in the warning. “Such sabotage operations can sow fear and doubt, damage important infrastructure, disrupt commerce, or cause injury and death.”

Recent incidents attributed to Russian operatives include arson attacks on defense firms and logistics hubs in the United Kingdom and Poland, as well as attempts to compromise utilities and military installations. Intelligence officials reported that Russian agents often enlist local criminal networks to carry out these acts, providing Moscow with plausible deniability.

The advisory emphasized that these operations aim to erode confidence among Ukraine’s allies and disrupt vital supply chains essential for Kyiv’s defense against Russian aggression.

Companies with ties to defense production or logistics were specifically urged to reassess their security protocols and remain vigilant against potential threats.

The bulletin also noted Russia’s increasingly ambitious destabilization efforts. Earlier this month, Western security agencies exposed Moscow’s involvement in an attempt to smuggle incendiary devices onto cargo planes bound for North America, resulting in fires at a courier facility in Germany and a storage site in England.

These incidents are part of Russia’s broader hybrid warfare strategy, which includes cyberattacks, disinformation campaigns, and acts of sabotage designed to weaken Western resolve and support for Ukraine. Moscow has consistently denied involvement in such operations.

American companies, especially those operating abroad or involved in defense and critical infrastructure, are being urged to tighten their security measures and coordinate with local and international authorities to mitigate risks.
