But this plan was shot down by aides as it would stall COVID relief deal negotiations even more, according to the report.

- Congress will likely spend the weekend bickering over the details of a proposed $900 billion economic rescue bill that reportedly will include a second stimulus check for $600 or $700 each for qualifying adults and dependents, according to multiple reports.
- Another government shutdown deadline looms on Sunday if lawmakers fail to strike a deal on both a government funding bill and an economic relief package.
- Lawmakers are expected to vote by Sunday at 1PM.
