The Sarasota Police Department and U.S. Marshals Service have arrested 24-year-old Dorian Brooks, a suspect in a shooting murder.
Both agencies responded to a residence in the 5100 block of Old Bradenton Road, Sarasota, around 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Brooks was arrested around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
Brooks was wanted on multiple felony warrants, including a warrant for murder out of Bradenton.
According to police, on January 23, 2023, multiple suspects arrived at a residence in the 100 block of 10th Avenue W., Bradenton, to commit an armed robbery.

During the robbery, the suspects shot more than 60 times, striking three victims. One of the victims, a 23-year-old man, died from his injuries on January 31.
Brooks was inside a friend’s residence for more than 10 hours and was found in the attic when officers apprehended him.
No injuries are involved in this incident, which is still under investigation.
