Two Women Stabbed To Death In St. Petersburg; Suspect Charged

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the deaths of two women, Christina Donzero, 34, and Betti “Suzanne” Thevenet Donzero, 75, at their residence located at 5252 108th Street North in unincorporated St. Petersburg.

On Saturday, April 12, 2025, at approximately 10:14 a.m., deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a homicide at the home. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the bodies of Christina Donzero and Betti Donzero. Both victims sustained multiple stab wounds and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Kirk Hysell Jr., 41, was located within the residence and taken into custody. Hysell sustained self-inflicted injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Hysell confessed to the homicides and made statements suggesting premeditation and intent to harm additional family members. He is currently charged with two counts of First-Degree Murder.

The investigation remains active.
