Two Honduran nationals have been indicted on federal charges for transporting minors across state lines with the intent to engage in sexual activity, following a joint investigation by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Gainesville and multiple law enforcement agencies.
Fredi Agustin-Vasquez y Guardado, 22, and Marlon Ronaldo Canas Trochez, 26, both face a minimum penalty of 10 years and up to life in federal prison if convicted.

According to the indictment, Agustin-Vasquez allegedly transported a minor victim in April or May 2024 with the intent that the minor engage in conduct constituting lewd and lascivious battery under Florida law. Similarly, Trochez is accused of committing the same offense on September 4, 2024.
The indictments stem from a collaborative effort involving HSI Gainesville, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Augusta (South Carolina) Department of Public Safety.
The cases will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Laura Cofer Taylor and Kelly S. Milliron.
